Persian Grammar and Verbs is a syllabus of fifty-eight lessons design as a classroom and self-study resource to help improve general Persian reading skills, and to expand one's passive vocabulary.

The format of most PGV lessons consists of a brief introduction presenting the lesson's subject and offering a context for its appreciation; paradigms and authentic examples of features and facets of the lesson's subject followed by descriptive generalizations in nontechnical terms about the phenomenon in question; and a translation of the lesson's text.

PGV describes Persian grammar and linguistic aspects of Iranian society and culture. In many lessons, the authentic reading texts focus on cultural events, customs, and issues of presumed importance as part of the general knowledge about Iranian society for intermediate and advanced Persian students.
