This book is designed for the upper intermediate to advanced English speaking student of Lingala, a member of the Bantu family of languages and the most important of the four national languages of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The book includes Lingala texts of two long pieces of prose fiction and a short play with an English translation of each. An introduction by the translator provides background on the Lingala language and a summary of the three texts that make up the book.
