This reader is intended to provide the beginning or intermediate student of Chavacano with a broad selection of articles together with all necessary lexical and grammatical information.

The first part of this reader contains 45 selections that were taken from field recordings, newspapers, books, literary pieces, and individual compositions. Wide range of subjects including culture and society, politics and economics, science and technology, defense and security, geography, and environment.

The second part consists English translations of all 45 selections.

The third part contains an index of grammatical terminology, an overall glossary, and a frequency list.
